Village electrification
Many remote villages can now be provided with electric power from a solar array (and in some cases Wind Generators) to provide lighting, water pumping, telecommunications and TV, radio etc.
Miscellaneous
In remote sites away from mains power and also where fuel is at a premium, solar and/or wind systems can provide essential power for a variety of applications such as :- security lighting, street lighting, intruder alarms etc. |

Telemetry
For utility applications e.g. electricity distribution, water authorities, oil pipe lines, and in remote areas.
Television/radio repeaters
For remote communities where there is no mains electricity, the availability of wind/solar power can provide extended reception of TV and radio through a remote repeater.
Navigation beacons
Many maritime coastal, and aviation navigation beacons (light or radio) are of necessity sited where mains power is not available, in many cases wind/solar power is the answer.
Village electrification
Many remote villages can now be provided with electric power from a solar array (and in some cases wind generators) to provide lighting, water pumping, telecommunications and TV, radio etc.
Cathodic protection
Power sources for remote locations such as long distance pipelines etc. ,with battery back-up, charge controllers and continuous output.
Medical
For remote hospitals, medical centres, clinics etc. In addition to power for lighting, solar arrays are used with World Health Organisation approved12/24V DC vaccine refrigerators.
Water Applications
Solar arrays (and wind generators) are used to provide 12/24V DC power for irrigation pumping from river/canals, well and borehole pumping and for water purification systems.
Transportation
For remote road, rail and airport systems. Applications include telecommunications, railway signalling, road signs, hazard warning lights, runway markers etc.
Miscellaneous
In remote sites away from mains power and also where fuel is at a premium, solar and/or wind systems can provide essential power for a variety of applications such as :- security lighting, street lighting, intruder alarms, military applications etc. |
